our wiley heroes tried to investigate further the dark hole they seemed to have fallen into, and unfortunately ended up telling the wrong people some unbelievable lies. this lead to a little combat, which lead to the death of Falom. the others quickly finished off the miscreants, and then mourned for the dead. and went through his pockets for loose change. that being done, they talked nice with some of the other locals, and then left for points more Peaceful.

our wiley heroes decide that, having bravely stranded 20+ helpless prisoners in the face of certain death, they’ve earned a couple of days of rest, which they take, in the dark. then they decide it’s time to leave, resulting in Nevyn’s sudden intimate acquaintance with the ground. the ensuing fusillade drives them back inside, and the attendant pandemonium causes them great worry. then they realize that someone’s having them on. further reconaissance, much in the dark, eventually uncovers the miscreant, unto whom swift “justice” is duly meted out.

Session 11: The Prisoners are Free at Last!

our wiley heroes’ first challenge was reunification – Nevyn was trapped in an increasingly hospitable desert with an increasingly deceased camel and wanted dearly to once again join with his comrades. this necessitated a good deal of climbing about, and a little falling. following that, and a little combat, they decided to side-step the ethical considerations of their situation and let most of the 20+ prisoners they’d freed fend for themselves. a chance encounter with unpleasantness in a long hallway led them to bravely run away, into an apparently entirely deserted and unlit town.

so while the rest of the wiley adventurers went underground, poor Nevyn was left guarding the camel. and, well, he tried real hard, and did his best. and he’s not dead yet! lots of pain? yes. ability damage? yes. dead? nope.

Session 10: The Prison
xpreport

aside from the wiley hero who stays behind to watch the camel (english translation: jeffsutton had a family emergecy and was unable to attend – playing through what happened to nevyn while he was guarding the camel will hopefully happen before the next saturday mob session), the intrepid adventurers descend into the bowels of the earth to be accosted by assorted hideous affronts to nature such as:

  • the force of gravity
  • something about the size of a bulldog, with tentacles where its ears should be
  • the force of gravity, again!
  • far too many people in need of help
  • a couple of hideous affronts to nature that have some idea about how to do combat

they deal with all of the above with more than their usual amount of aplomb. (english translation: noöne actually drops to 0 hit points.)

Session 9: Into the Desert

our wiley heroes finish exploring the passage between the jungle and the desert, and venture out into the heat. and then realize they should maybe wait until sometime after the middle of the day. (mad dogs and englishment…) that night they encounter a giant block of ice and a tumbleweed with a taste for blood, allowing them to again practice their favourite tactic of falling down in the middle of combat, and being healed back up again. the next morning, they meet a doorwarden, exchange words, and then blows. politely.

our intrepid heroes engaged in what was for the most part a standard dungeon crawl, with the addition of some bizarre topology, a camel blocking the passageway a couple of times, and the always most welcome feared spectre of TPK.

our wiley heroes met Kalon and Falom’s long-lost (indeed, until now, unknown) elder triplet Dalong. a second-hand cry of maternal distress resulted in – well – shopping. a lot of shopping. the heroes then departed the Peace for points less peaceful, spent a little time humping, wondered at the disappearance of a recent acquaintance, got back to nature, and tried to convince a camel to go:

  • down stairs
  • into a jungle
  • into a cave

. pity them.

so lessee, how to describe today’s action? an unexpected stroke of good luck had one of our wiley heroes crawling as far into the bottle as he could and trying to stay there. it turns out that not everyone who claims to be a customs inspector is a customs inspector. but, turnabout being fair play, it turns out that not everyone who claims to be an animal inspector is an animal inspector either. bob had beer, falling down was the pits. and suddenly, at the end of all things, a familiar face left assorted mouths hanging open.

players are encouraged to expand on that, or not, as they see fit.
